We are still here at the beach having a good time. Joseph is watching the NFL draft and Walker has gone to sleep. Pepper is sleeping on her bed, and I'm clicking away on the computer.

We had a great day at the beach! The skies were bright blue and it wasn't too hot. We started the morning with a long walk on the beach. Walker rode in his stroller and Pepper ran around off her leash. She continues to love the beach and the water! We came home and Walker took a 3-hour nap! He never does that at home. Once he woke up, we headed out to the beach. He wasn't too fond of the loose sand this time. He didn't do much crawling around and when we had to move our chairs back b/c of the tide, he didn't like the less compacted sand. Pepper loved chasing a ball that Joseph found a a little beach shop. She made lots of friends as people walked by and would want to visit with her. She was very proud of herself! Walker just loves Pepper and I think he gets a lot of comfort from seeing here there on the beach with him. It seemed like every time I looked at Walkeroo, he had more and more sand on his face. Who knows how much of that ended up in his mouth! After spending about an hour and a half on the beach, Walker was done! As he got cranky, we packed up and headed back to the house and got ready for dinner. I kept thinking that in a few years, he'll be begging to go to the beach and will be upset when we tell him it's time to go.

We headed into Calabash for dinner. Walker didn't take an afternoon nap - I thought a 3-hour morning nap would suffice. He did really well at the table and the waitress and tables around us loved him! At one point, he was raising his hand and doing his "how tall are you" trick and we heard the lady at the table next to us say to her husband, "He's waving to me!" So, once he caught her eye, he put on a show by raising his hand and smiling at her. He was a little ham! After we finished dinner, we walked out on the dock and watched a fishing boat come in to dock. We told him that it was a boat. After that, he kept saying, "boat" over and over. Or at least it was something that sounded like 'boat.' He's becoming very vocal these days and that melts my heart! I love hearing his sweet little voice!

On our way home, we saw a shop in Calabash that had a Christmas shop within it. I just love Christmas and asked Joseph to stop for a minute so we could get an ornament to remind us of our first family beach trip. We found a cute sand dollar with a Santa painted on it. I'm sure it will be so special to pull out each year. By then, Walker was on borrowed time so we raced home, got him the bathtub, and put him to bed.
